My rat has some odd bumps?

My brand new hairless pet rat has these wierd, little bumps on her skin. They kinda look like a cross between a rat nipple and a pimple. They are along her sides and up near her face. My other rat has some now too? I can't afford to take them to the vet right now, but I need to know, are these little pimple like bumps going to be a problem or are they fine and I'm just freaking out over something small.

  1. maybe fleas

  2. If your hairless rat is having any skin irritation, I recommend trying pure Vitamin E oil.  You can find this at a natural foods or vitamin store.  We offer it to our hairless rat (and the other rats too) every day on a spoon, and all of his random skin problems (including dry skin and pimples) have stopped.  He eats it, and also puts it on his hands then rubs it on his skin.  You can rub it on their skin directly, too.  Good luck with your babies!

  3. See a vet, I beg you.

  4. anything out of the ordinary that you cannot diagnose as "nothing" right away needs to be diagnosed by someone who knows alot about it or by a vet.

if you could post pictures, i might be able to help you.

it could be lice, mites or even parasites!

if it has spread to your other rat, it is definitely something to be checked out, and you should seek help from a vet.

you are responsible for these rats as you took them into your care, not having money right now is not an excuse to let your rats be in pain and suffer. there are lots of places that will help you out if you seek it.
