My snakes scales look scratched?

Question

My ball python has some scales that are grayish. If you look closely they look scratched.

He is on vita-sand (edible sand for snakes, lizards etc...)

so Is there something wrong or what?

It could just be the starting point fot the shed, I wouldn't worry too much. After he sheds, if the area is still grayish, then I would inquire further at a reptile vet.
