My dad??

Okay, this will probably sound so strange but, me and my dad are going out tomorrow to a theme park, just me and my dad, and it feels weird, and I want to go with someone else, like me my dad and someone else, me and my dad are not close, and its just weird….

Why am I feeling like this, its not like my dad abuses me or anything, it just feels strange and weird.

Should I still go with him?

take it from someone who is 15 and has already lost their dad just bcuz you arent close doesnt mean you cant get close....dont take the time you have with your dad for granite bcuz tomorow he may not be there and you will wish you had a closer relationship with him

Maybe your dad just wants to spend some quality time with you, he probably feels himself that the both of you aren&#039;t that close and he wants to change that. The real question is...Do YOU want to be close to your dad?

I was close to mine and he died when i was 14yrs old, we did everything together...swimming, theme parks, go karts, fixed the car and he even took me to work with him on the weekends...it was the greatest. Needless to say i was heartbroken when all that stopped, it was as if my best friend in the world had gone.

Give your dad a chance, whats one day? Just remember he wont be around forever.

yes!!! you&#039;ll have a wicked time! if your your not that close, even more of a reason to spend some quality time together! don&#039;t let it feel weird, it&#039;s only your dad lol.

Your dad may not be the ideal theme park companion, and you probably think he&#039;s just a total dork, but everyone thinks that about their parents. Parents really want to spend time with their children no matter how over it you may be or how old you get. I think you should just try to have a good time, and you&#039;ll realize after a while that it&#039;s really not so weird and that it can be a good thing. When you&#039;re dad is gone you&#039;ll be able to look back on the good times you shared with him. Don&#039;t take it for granted...you might be sorry later on.

i know what you mean. i&#039;ve always sort of had this feeling with my dad. i&#039;d always feel more comfortable with my mom for some reason. Usually in a situation like that the awkwardness wears off after a bit. I think you&#039;ll be fine alone with your dad after you get used to it but if you&#039;re still unsure try your best to get someone else to come along.

also my dad is the type that doesn&#039;t like acting all soft and stuff so i dunno if your dad is the same. those type of dads usually don&#039;t like showing  much love because it feels embarassing!

I know what you mean. I dont get on with my dad at all and any time we are alone together there are just awkward silences.

It just haapens if maybe you didnt spend alot of time together when you were younger.
