  3. Question:

    1) c-  The class of pain relievers you are talking about is called non-steroidal anti-inflamatory.  They do not increase immune system activity nor can they repair neurons in the brain. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) block the Cox enzymes and reduce prostaglandins throughout the body. As a consequence, ongoing inflammation, pain, and fever are reduced.

    2) a)  your blood type refers to a certain group of closely related protiens in your blood.  If you donate blood to a person that does not have this protien their body will buildup anti-bodies to it and attack the transferred blood.  Thus if you are type A you can only give to someone that has A or a combination including A.

  4. C) Aspirin's ability is to suppress the production of prostaglandins. which interrupts the transmission of pain information to the brain.

    A) Blood group A individuals have the A antigen on the surface of their RBCs. Therefore, a group A individual can receive blood only from individuals of groups A or O (with A being preferable), and can donate blood to individuals with type A or AB.

  5. C to the first one and A to the second one
