  1. So you must be overhand serving.  Am i right?  Ok, so when you serve, NEVER toss it "back"  because that is when you are reaching back and can't get the full contact.  throw it right in front of you about 5 feet in the air.  Bring your serving arm back like a bow and arrow, and the snap your arm forward when the ball is where you can reach it the highest.  While you are doing this, take a step with your foot.  That should help!! :D

  2. It sounds like it is more in your head now.  You think you can not get your serve over, so you can not get your serve over.  Relax and take some deep breaths.  Getting mad about it will only make you more tense, which will make you miss more serves.   Which will make you more mad and so on.  Relax, breathe, and then serve.

Move up to the 10 foot line.  Get 5 serves over from there.  Move back one step.  Get 5 serves over from there.  And so on until you are serving from the service line.  Do this every day until your game on Thursday.

  3. keep practicing and ask coaches for help. but remeber keep you hand firm, fingers apart, feet shoulder width apart and try to hit the ball when you arm is at its highest point

  4. Back toss? What do you mean?

Basically you serve behind the line . If you underhand serve, you bring your serving arm back straight and hit it with your palm with a straight follow through. I always wear a wrist band because I hit them low (but over the net ) with a spin. Hard to return those. I played rec volleyball and I am almost 59 years old. I have played for over 30 years and a car accident and knee surgeries with nerve damage put the Kabash on volleyball. Bummers. Love the game.

Make sure your follow through and your arm stays straight through the serve. If you don't do this.....it will go in a different direction. Good luck and hit one for me. I was a good server and served up 13 straight points. You didn't say what kind of volleyball you play. The rules are stricter in school and pro teams. Hang in there and try not to get mad because that won't help you improve. Practice as much as you can. Good luck at your game.

  5. alright so i'm assuming this is an overhand serve. your toss is the most important thing. keep it out in front of you and over your right shoulder (if you are right handed). for your game on thursday, when you have free time between now and then, practice tossing the ball and just catching it in the air where you would normally hit it. without that good toss, it will be hard to get the serve where you want it.

more info? just email me and i'll be happy to chat. good luck!

  6. This happens to me. Because of summer, I don't practice, and then I suck! But you know what they say... Practice makes perfect! All you need to do is practice alot. Good luck and keep playing

  7. Just a tip: make sure you have a firm, strong hand. Don't come at the ball weakly.

  8. my serve sucks big time so i found another way to do it u can toss the ball up and  with ur hand in a fist hit the ball withe the side of ur fist,or hold the ball in ur hand turn sideways and hit it off ur hand with the side of ur fist try these a couple of times and see wat happens it worked for me

  9. try working out more and ask your coach for help!!!!!!

  10. just practice everyday for a long time
