My windows IE will not open!?

I had a virus, and my friend got rid of it but now my IE won't open. I uninstalled it then reinstalled it. Still nothing. Now, after the install, my yahoo mail won't open when I click the mail icon on the list. What is going on?

since yesterday att /yahoo & yahoo have been a royal pain. I gave up doing my usual things after 3-4 hours trying to resolve it.

I have limited knowledge about this stuff but perhaps it is them, not you or your computer.
