N0 display on my Pc,

N0 display on my Pc, works intermitantly. Checked Monitor ok, also linked hard drive to another pc, that is also ok, I have changed the cmos battery, please can you advise what else I can check. The problem occured after I let my son chat to a friend on Msn, although I have Norton Installed.Thanks in anticipation
