Question:

NASCAR track in every state?

So I was reading the Time magazine that came out a week after Dale Sr.'s death and it had some NASCAR facts in there. One of the facts said that there is a racetrack in 46 states. Do yall think there will ever be a racetrack in all 50 states and how long do you think it will be before there is a track in all the states if ever?!?! I just wish Arkansas had a race track!! Just wondering.

  1. That One Dude person..... is that you Greenbean??

  2. NASCAR has series that run in nearly evry state. Some states the tracks are 1/4 or 1/3 mile tracks perfect for Saturday night shoot outs but not comducive for the major series Will there be a track in every state more than likely not.But be asured there will be some sort of NASCAR event in most of the states.

  3. There's a difference between a NASCAR track, and a NASCAR track that is host to the Cup/Nationwide/Truck races. There is a race track in every state, but necessarily a NASCAR sanctioned track.

There used to be a lot more NASCAR sanctioned tracks, but they seem to be switching to IMCA, UMP or other governing bodies. I think NASCAR is getting away from the local tracks, but if they weren't, there could easily have been a NASCAR track in every state. There used to be NASCAR sanctioned dirt tracks that I know of, but not sure anymore.

  4. In Alaska? I highly doubt it.

  5. I wonder which 4 states don't have one.

I'm in Utah, there's one here, it's a decent one, the owner of the Utah Jazz had it built.

Agreeing with the Alaska theory, also Hawaii, the weather there's just too undpredictable.

    OMG, Danny!! Shame on you..

  6. I live in New Mexico and we don't have a NASCAR track.  But we do have some short tracks asphalt and dirt none NASCAR sponsored though.  I doubt all 50 will have them because some states can't economically support it.

  7. no way, there's some states that could be dangerous for some drivers to race there like Alaska because of the snow and the car could skid around and crash into another drivers and have another "Black Sunday"

  8. I DO!!! I loved Dale Sr. HE was my one and only favorite driver and after his death I did what most Earnhardt fans did and took a liking to his son. Dale Jr. I happen to live in New York and we do not have a racetrack for NASCAR. And I hate it. I mean Canada has one! I want one too! Even if Canada is only a couple hours away.

  9. I don't see NASCAR doing Hawaii or Alaska due to the logistics in getting there. Most of what I've heard/read is the reason why NASCAR is pulling out of Mexico next year.

  10. NASCAR going to all 50 states tracks???  And some people complain the season is long with 36 races :)

  11. Mississippi doesn't have one, and I bet Alaska and Hawaii don't because of the travel distance.  So I wonder what the other one is.

I doubt there'll ever be one in Alaska or Hawaii.  There was talk about putting in a track at Tunica in Mississippi, but there's all kinds of talk down there.  Heck, if you believe everything you hear it'll be bigger than Orlando in 15 years.

  12. There is NASCAR sanctioned tracks in just about evey state, what ever the serias (spelling) is. Some state budgets really don't want to fork out the cash to build a track, that might not host a major race.

They are spreading out more and more.

I would like to see a race in Denver, or Wyoming, or Montana.

  13. Heeey I lived in Alaska and it isn't "TOO COLD"  LOL   Well it is in the wintertime but it's cold here in NY as well.  Fairbanks has a great dirt track that we used to go to all the

    time...http://www.mitchellraceway.com/wst_page2...

And the state has lots of small tracks...

Aaska would be a fine place for a summer race.  It's also the place where many drivers go on vacation.

  14. West Virginia needs one.  Put a short track  nestled in the mountains of God's Country.

    Never happen though...

    $ome rea$on

  15. there is prolly some short tracks in all 50 states

  16. The thought is nice, but it just wouldn't be feasible. That would crowd a lot of tracks into a small geographical area, along the (north) eastern seaboard, and spread the tracks over an huge geographical area for the non-continental states.

Scheduling races during 50 weeks would not allow much of an offseason, either.

  17. every state other than hawaii and alaska to hot and to cold

  18. I don't think anyone's going to build a NASCAR racetrack in Mississippi, my home state. I wish they would though.
