Memphis Grizzlies are set to host Los Angeles Lakers at their home ground on Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Lakers have already suffered a loss at the hands of the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. They were reduced to 95-92 as they fell behind with a margin of 15 points.
The Lakers have lost two straight games and they will try to win this third one to avoid their first third game losing streak of the season.
The Memphis Grizzlies are not that fearsome a team for the Lakers. They are not a team that the Lakers would find very difficult to handle since they have already defeated the Grizzlies seven out of eight times.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been facing hard luck in the last three games. The Lakers had an average of 112.5 points in the first 14 games but later they were limited to a 95.3 per game as they shot at a rate of 39.9 percent.
The Lakers were defeated by Utah Jazz at the Energy Solutions Arena at Utah, 102-96. They stood there watching as their five game winning streak came to an end at the hands of Jazz. That pain had not subsided when only two days later the Indiana Pacers revolted
against them and being at .500 defeated them again 95-92. The Indiana Pacers had not won a single road game against the Lakers since 1999 but finally they succeeded in winning one after 11 regular game seasons.
“Focus, our energy and effort... We need to sustain it throughout the whole game,” Lamar Odom who was as hurt as any of the other Lakers said later. “It was disappointing after letting a team come back from 19. ... It was real disappointing
and we have to go back to the drawing board.”
Kobe Bryant was one person who played really well and despite the loss he scored 41 points. He had scored 31 points against the Utah Jazz and they lost in both the games.
“We're going to score points, but we've got to shore up the defence,” He said. “We've got to execute better. We missed too many assignments, and we didn't play with the right energy.”
Bryant scored an average of 37.0 points during his last six games at Memphis when the Lakers won five. Bryant had 6 for 13 from a 3-point range in the last two games and Derek Fisher has not made even one in four straight games but he still shot a total
3 for 21 in the last three games. Fisher has secured a career-high 47.2 percent with his 3 point attempts. The Lakers are at 7-0 with the help of Fisher as he scores his double figures.
The Memphis Grizzlies are 7-10. They shot at a percentage of 42.4 on Saturday night when they lost to Cleveland Cavaliers 92-86. By doing so they matched their second lowest score of the season.
The Grizzlies are going to be fresher than the Lakers on Tuesday night. The poor Grizzlies were so tired when they came in front of the Cleveland team after their game on Friday that they could only score their season worst 35 points in the second half.
Both the teams are in dire need of a victory but only the best team wins so both the teams need practice and a lot of concentration to get this much wanted win.
