  1. hideous name. please dont.

  2. I like the symbolism.  It's sort of like flying the American flag upside down as a distress signal.  You could name her Maerd Nacirema.  Maerd would be pronounced sort of like merde which is French for Sh*t.   But the American Dream doesn't have to be the American nightmare forever.  You don't want to saddle a kid with a name that brings back memories of bad times.  So even though I think it's an amusing idea and I could see doing it to a character in a book I would have to say no to naming a child Nacirema.

  3. Don't do it.  Someone is trying to make a fool of you/your husband.  The Nacirema is an article written by an anthropologist many years ago making fun of Americans.

  4. Sorry I don't like it. It sounds kinda ugly. :-/

  5. DISLIKE. iagree with the person above me.and below me

  6. i am sorry dislike sorry

  7. Poor kid - A whole lifetime of getting bullied. But if you want your child to get bullied then call it that hideous name

  8. sorry but i dislike the name

  9. A new life---a new start.  Give the baby a nice name, not this.  What don't you name him Eric, it is in America.  If you had a girl, Erica.

  10. Sorry but its dreadful

  11. Nacirema sounds like a skin disease.

  12. Sorry, but that's pretty awful.  It sounds like a prescription cream for psoriasis.

  13. i like it how about Nacilina or Nasirina/ nacirina

    or Narcisa:pronounced narsissa

or Narelle, Narette, Naina, Nyla, Nila Nilyn, Nirya.

    Nalani, Nisa, Nanilah, nanilyn, Natia,

but my faves are Nacirina, or Narcisa.

    goodluck
