On the home page of tennis.com, it states that Nadal is the strongest #2 in history and Jankovic is the weakest #1 in history. Do you agree with this?

I never thought about it this way, but I totally agree with it. Nadal has been an amazing #2 and his rise to the top has been so epic. And Jankovic hasn't won a grand slam or even been to a final and she has won only one title this year.

  1. yes agree but nadal is better for me

    thanks - http://tennishoes-review.blogspot.com/

  2. i hear yeah dude!

nadal has totally earned every point to be number 2.. winning the french open, and dethroning federer at wimbledon, and improving on hardcourt.. nadal has kept his end of the deal

jankovic, yes she has talent, the best defense out there, but she is very mentally brittle in grand slams, has never yet seen a final, even with justine henin out..... and she is more of a tournament player, and even that has been no great this year...

jankovic most undeserved number one ranking.... has much to prove still

  3. Nadal deserves the #1 ranking. I am definitely a Federer fan, but he is obviously not in his prime anymore. But I also think that Nadal is going to fall out of the #1 spot in less than a year because of all the wear and tear that he puts on his body. He is already having knee problems and I'm surprised his shoulder hasn't given out already.

Jankovic does not deserve the #1 ranking at all! I agree that Safina is the best player on tour right now, but since she was so far down to begin with, it will take some time to get to the top. Jankovic just kinda counterpunches the whole time, and really isn't even good enough to be in the top 3.

  4. agree

  5. I agree with that. Rafa totally deserves to be #1. First, he's been chasing that spot for what? 2 years? He's won all the titles he could, and the ones he didn't, he pretty much lost them to Roger. And this year, he's just been amazing. And taking Wimbledon from Roger? (I still feel bad for Roger, but oh well) I think that was enough proof to say that yes, he's more than ready to be the #1.

As for Jankovic, yeah, i agree too. (I read that article yesterday :P) She's only getting to be #1 out of luck, it seems. At least Ivanovic got to be #1 for winning a Grand Slam (and well....Sharapova also rose to #1 only 'cause Henin retired, but at least she DID win a Grand Slam)

I don't have anything against Jankovic or anything, but i don't really think she deserves it.

  6. totally agree

  7. totally agree

Nadal has been a super strong and consistent #2 for a couple of years

    i'm so happy for him!

    he''s #1 now

    talk about hard work

    as for Jankovic

    i have nothing to say

the #1 fits too big behind her name

  8. Totally agree.  Nadal put his time in, challenged "the man Federer" in every way possible getting better with each meeting, learning more and more, and getting smarter with every match.

Jankovic....okay, the women are a little bit of a mess right now.  The main gals departure, Henin, has actually made a mess of the women.  I dont like her, she is a "drama queen" if things are going her way, she calls for a trainer to take away the other players rhythm.  Djokovic does the same thing.  I'd say its their country, but its not Ivanovic doesnt play games like that.

Jankovic should not be #1, if anyone should be and maybe soon will be is Safina....

  9. Without any doubt it's true.

In that article it shows the graph with the ranking points of the #1's right?

Nadal has been behind one of the best ever in Roger Federer Jelena Jankovic is playing during a transitional faze of mediocrity in the womens.

  10. well i agree that perhaps she maybe the least strongest of the players who have achieved it but i don't agree that one MUST have a slam or have been in a major final to get it. slams are not the only things that reflect rank points, dolls! get that straight. the fact is,if you play and you win alot on the tour,it still counts. and jj just plays alot of tourney's and she wins alot of matches. and besides that, she has not been beaten before the quarters all season.

  11. Im completely agree.
