Nailpolish out of carpet?

Does anyone have any tricks to get nailpolish out of carpet and fabric? My BRIGHT pink nailpolish spilled all over my off white berber carpet and my brown couch. I tried to use nailpolish remover right after it happened, but it just seemed to smear it making any even bigger mess. Thank you!

I Spilled BLUE nailpolish on my white carpet! I made a mix out of polish remover, dish soap, and some 20 mule team borax. It Worked! ( Find the borax in your laundry isle at a store)

nail polish remover mixed with carpet cleaner  and baking soda ASAP
