Question:

Naming Girl After Dad?

Okay, if there was a girl and she was going to be the very last child in her family, would you think it's weird to name her after her father? If he had a family name (that had been passed down) and there was no hope of another boy?

It would be James Hayden

We could allways go with 2 names, a girly one and then Hayden.

  2. Hayden is a great name ,make it Hayden J. _______

  3. I actually like the name Hayden for the first name.  It's really pretty.  Then something simple and traditional for the middle name like Joy, Marie, or Elizabeth.

  4. you could use janie hayden or jamie hayden...or jenny hayden

  5. Hayden Jamie is my favorite!

  6. Jasmine Hayden

  7. how bout you give her james as the middle name......call her hayley james

  8. Are you wanting to use James & Hayden as middle names? Would you consider naming her after him but using feminine/different versions?

    My suggestions are-

    Hayley Jamison

    Jamie-Rose Harper

    Jamilia Hayden

    Jayde Hailey

    Harper Jay

    Jaymes Haiden

  9. I think that would be a great way to honor the father.  You could name her James and call her Jamie.  Jamie King (model and actress) goes by James because its her nickname by her family!  You could always give her two middle names and call her by her first two initials.  Example would be James Christine Hayden and call her J.C.  What about naming her Hayden James?  Hayden is also a neutral name.  (Think Hayden Panettiere).  I think she will be honored to be named after her father when she gets older whether you go with James or Hayden:)  I would go with Hayden James though:)  Good Luck!

  10. I agree with the others. If i was going to be named I would want Jamie or Jane or something like that. Jamie Rose Hayden I like that name :)

  11. You could name her Jamie.

  12. You can name your child anything you want, with any number of names allowed on the birth certificate.  I find many of the "boy" names quite attractive for "girl" names; quite catchy, I think.  Also, she can be assured she won't be just another Heather or Brittany or whatever... I know a girl named Sidney and another named Jimmie.

  13. Definitely no on James for a girl, but you could go with

Jamie Rose Hayden or Jayne Hayden instead.

  14. no way. James is for boys. Use Jamie

  15. My friends middle name is james.  you could name her  hayden james for a girl though would be good.

  16. I wouldn't name your daughter James, but you could try something similar like Jamie, Jaden, Jordan, Janie, Janet, etc. I love the name Hayden though! Good luck and hope i helped =]

  17. I like the name James on a girl. If she doesn't like it, she can go by Jamie. Hayden is my girl cousin, so that's cool. I would consider naming a girl James, because it was my grandfather's middle name. Weird connections.....

  18. honestly, the name James for a girl would grow on me. You could always call her Jamie for a nick name or something maybe even spell it a little differently like Jaymes. i know a bunch of people would think it was weird, but I knew a girl named Evan and lots of people use the name Dylan as a unisex name the same with Logan, Noah, Riley, and Morgan. My sister even knows a girls who's first name is Sloan. People get over it and your daughter might like having her father's name it would be a part of him that could never be lost.

  19. jamie or jane
