Question:

Nashville Attractions?

I am going to Nashville next week and I am staying in Opryland. My hotel is about 6-8 miles away from downtown Nashville. I am wondering about touring Nashville without a vehicle. I will probably take a cab to get downtown but I want to explore Nashville and don't want to pay for a cab all day. Are there alot of attractions close enough together that I should walk? Is there another way to get around Nashville?

  1. tennessee girl here !  opryland has a huge outlet mall attatched , there are lots of cool things downtown, even if u don't like country music !  they have a public bus system that should not be very expensive. there are tons of tours available on buses and vans.  the whole city is very spread out. there is an area known as "west end"  lots of really cool shops, eating etc.  it is not far from downtown. it is in the area of vanderbilt university.  check outthe nashville website  it will probably have lots of good info.  you may be a little limited without a car but it is a beautiful city.  there are  also lots of historical sites, if that interests you.  hope this helps  have fun  it's a great city.

You can check out this website to help decide what kind of attractions you want to see.  Most of the things downtown are within walking distance.  But it could get tiring, depending on how much you walk to see.

Here's another website about the Nashville City Busses.  You might be able to find a bus scheule that revolves around certain attractions you want to see.  It would be a whole lot cheaper than taking a cab everywhere.

Hope this helps.  Nashville is a great City and alot of fun.  Be sure to make time for everything you want to see and you won't be disappointed.

  3. i went to nashville a couple years ago...if you are staying in the gaylord opryland hotel, you wont need to go out that much. that place it HUGE! its like an entire community under a bubble! there's tons of shops, restaurants and stuff to do in there. definately see the grand old opry. im not a big country fan, but it was incredible! and the mall near the hotel is huge and really nice!

    i hope i helped a little...
