Question:

Native American Philosophy / Beliefs Comparison?

In my high school AP US History class, we are currently talking about the Native Americans.

So my question is, how does the philosophy, values, and beliefs of the Native Americans differ from the typical American high school teenager?

Or from that of the typical American middle-age adult?

Thanks a ton!

  1. i'm not sure the native americans differ in their philosophy, values and beliefs. that might be considered an overgeneralization.

where native peoples may differ from non native people may be in their history as a people.

to suggest that one race differs from another "typical" group is the beginning of racism...a very slippery slope

i believe that 'systemic racism' in our society is often supported by vague "we/they" generalizations.

  2. Typical Americans are often Christian or influenced by the self-hating, and nature devaluing of Christianity. Native American beliefs put man as one with nature and nature as good.
