The closest station to Minehead is, funnily enough, Minehead. Only trouble is, it's on a preserved steam railway rather than Network Rail. It's a nice trip, so use it if you can. You'll need a bus across Taunton to the steam railway station.

By train or rail If you are travelling by train, the nearest main line station to Minehead is Taunton. A bus transfer service is operated by Southern National between Taunton Station and Minehead. This service is available at an additional cost. On Mondays to Saturdays, there's approximately an hourly service, with the last bus leaving Taunton Railway Station at 10:15 pm.
