what can cause them? I get them probably every other day, usually when i get up, but often later in the day too. I've tried different pillows etc.

It tends to occur in my upper shoulder and along one side of my neck (usually the right). It lasts for several hours.

if it helps, I'm a 6'2" 18 y/o male who.

  1. maybe your neck and shoulder are just tense in general and in need of some gentle exercise.

have you tried yoga or pilates before?

  2. have your chick massage you lol no but seriously get a towel put it around th back of your neck and move it from side to side if you do this every so often it should go away

  3. are u hunched over the computer all day

  4. Check your pillow: not over 2 inches thick? Your neck should not be bent outside the spinal 'line' when you are sidelying. How about your arms? Keep them down.

Keep your computer screen slightly below eye-level & don't sit too close to movie screens (don't look up much).
