Need a Kayak for Ocean!?

I need a kayak to help get my shark bait past the surf. Never kayaked in probably 5 years and that was just once so I need kinda a novice one. I'm in shape, I surf so i have good balance. That should give a bit of detail for suiting me. And also I wouldn't like to spend loads of cash.

There are a variety of kayaks for sale that will fit your needs.  I will tell you to stay away from Pelican.  I've owned two of their kayaks and they are awful in the surf.  I've mostly used Ocean Kayaks..the Frenzy and the Yak both work pretty well...basically you want something that's short and easy to maneuver..What will happen is you'll get turned at times and you need to be able to point the bow into the waves asap or you're going over....which when dragging hook infested bait behind you, is no fun.

If you're looking for something used, only other experience I have is with a Hula.  I can't even tell you the brand as I've owned it for 10 or so years, but it's been awesome in the surf and I've spent many an hour paddeling past breakers to drop some bait myself.
