  1. Drop the four iron,  get a 20 or 22 degree hybrid, I like the ping brands but there are many out there.  Look at the Hot List published by golf digest in Feb this year and you can get a good idea of the ratings.  I did this in my own bag.  Mine consist of driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 22 degree hybrid, 5-PW,  52,56 and 60.  I Hit the five wood around 225, hit the hybrid to 200-210.  anything under 200 with no back stopp I take my 5 iron and either hit a low draw (more distance about 200)  or a nice high fade (less distance,, about 180).  To tell you the truth now that I have become more familar with the hybrid I use it for almost all my 2nd shot on par 5's where I used my 5 wood in the past.  The hybrid doesn't have the distance, however it is much more consistant and keeps me out of more trouble.

BTW- keep your 60 in the bag, with the newest tech (Spin milling) it allows the regular golf a tool that we have never had, and allows you to become more creative around the green (SCORE)

  2. Something with 24 degrees of loft to replace the 4 iron.  Cobra Baffler DWS won the 07 Golf Magazine Club Test as best hybrid.

  3. Ok first, PLEASE dont lose your 60* wedge.  This club is the most versatile club in your bag if you know how to use it.  Beside the putter, the wedge gets used the second most on average.

Now, depending on how your trajectory is, I would say either a 7 wood with the same steel shafts as your irons, (or graphite the same as your irons) or maybe a 22* hybrid.  For the hybrid, I would recommend the Taylormade Rescue TP, Cleveland Halo, or my personal favorite for the price, Nickent 3 or 4.  Make sure you have the right shaft combination for the club, this will make all the difference.

For the 7 wood, try the old Taylormade Vsteel or maybe the callaway  7 wood.  That is up to you.

Either way you choose, know that it is not a quick solution, you still have to practice with whatever club you decide to get.

  4. You dont need any more clubs.

  5. I dont use the Hybrids, but, I hear they are a great new tool.  Maybe a Seven Wood of some sort should take the place of that 4 iron

  6. The hybrid is the club for you.  You need to determine how far it goes for you to decide whether it should be a 3 or 4. You have a distance gap that needs filled.   My 3 hybrid goes about 210 and my 5 wood about 220 so the 3 was perfect for me.You could never make me give up my 60 degree. If I had to give up a club I would either weaken my gap or strengthen my sand wedge and to about 54 degrees.  The 7 wood may fill this distance gap but would not be as versatile as the hybrid.  Good luck!

  7. get rid of your 60 degree..only tour players should have them IMO, id take out the 4 iron and go with something like a 7 wood, since you hit your 5 wood so well. I know tour edge makes one h**l of a 7 and nine wood, id check it out.

  8. If you are looking to take your 4 iron out of your bag then you will want to get a hybrid that is about 21 degrees. There are many different options out there find one you like. If you want to keep your 4 iron in the bag and have something in between that and your 5 wood you would be best off getting a 16-19 degree hybrid.

  9. Drop the 4 iron and add a 7 wood.

  10. Gee I hate to sound old fashioned, but have you considered a 3, 2 or 1 iron.  They used to be standard issue before even five wood existed.  Oh wait you can't hit the 4 iron so I guess those wouldn't help.  There are a hundred hybrids out there I guess you could try them.

  11. 7 wood or 9 wood

  12. get a billy club
