Need advice on possible lawsuit?

I have an s-corp. "Corp A" where I am the president and the only member. I was doing an IT consulting gig for a multibillion dollar investment corp., "Corp B". Shortly after I began the project, Corp B decided to scrap it. I put in several hours of work, but have not been able to continue or get money from them for this $15K project.

I have several emails proving that they agreed to the contract and that I have began my work. I also have emails asking them to let me continue the project. However, I have no written documents. I did get paid several thousands from a previous project by this corp.

What are my options?

I've never seen anywhere where emails are considered a legitimate contract simply because you have no real proof who was at the keyboard on the other end agreeing to this contract.  You must get contract agreements in writing (on hard paper) with a real (non-electronic) signature for it to hold up in court.  Also, you didn't mention having an invoice for billing them for the work completed.  Again, no paperwork = no money collected.  Prior completed work is not proof of new contract.   I think you are out of luck on this one.  Just use this experience as a learning opportunity - I'm sure you'll get everything in writing in the future.
