Need help buying a new computer...?

I'm debating on these computers:

1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227080

2. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229050

3. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883107704

4. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883107499

5. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229035

Their primary use will be for internet usage, and gaming.

I want to be able to play any game that's out there currently, without any problems.

My budget is around $1000...ish... I can always wait for another paycheck to roll around.

If you can suggest any other computers that would do just as well, that would be wonderful, especially if they're cheaper.

More $$$ = more games.

Try not to let any suggestions go over $1300, please.

Thanks for your help ahead of time, it's greatly appreciated.

  1. i would say if you arent willing to build your own then 3 or 4 would work well. also, consider dual-core processor systems with e8400, e8500, or e8600 processors. don't forget that you can always install a better graphics card and/or more RAM easily. you can put a fairly nice gaming system together for around 1000 if you hunt for deals and dont over do some things like get a 1000 or 750 psu that you dont need or really fast RAM.

  2. I agree, system #2 is the best. But if you don't play Crysis then system #3 is an oustanding deal.  The Geforce 8800GTS is fast enough for any other games.

Take a Cyberpower or HP computer over the ibuypower one.  They are low priced but cheaply constructed- read the reviews on Newegg, they don't even secure the hard drives with screws!!

You can customize systems from scratch at Magic Micro.  Go for the SLI motherboard upgrade with dual 8800GT cards, or buy the base system and get a 9800GTX+ or Radeon 4870 from Newegg.

  3. hi there... if gaming is the game, get the one with the best graphic card . the one with 512mb internal ram or better. for way below 1k.

  4. The intel systems look mediocre for gaming. Just 9500GS? The 8800GTS cant match 9800GTX or the GTX260.

The Phenom systems look awesome. 4GB RAM, good HDD space. Get the one with GTX 260. That will play any game on the market.

    --------------------------------------...

If you want to build one yourself, you can save around $100 to $200.

    E8500 $190

    Intel P45 $128

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

    ATI Radeon HD 4850 or 4870 $150 to $250

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis...

    500GB HDD $70

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

    DVD writer Liteon/Asus $35

    4GB DDR2-800 GSkill $80

Cool Master case with 550watt PSU $125

Total: $900 max(with HD4870). Sure beats the heck out of any of the systems you put up.

all found on newegg.com for around 700 total after rebates, and with a 640mb video and a 3.2 ghz core 2 duo thats a fast pc.

    --------------------------------------

    on second hand..

you could just buy a super fast dell xps desktop?? but i think the ones you picked examples 3 and 4 and 5 look better for price.

    heck just build your own

    you'll save so much money

    and learn a lot more

  6. OK, of those systems... #2 is the best.

However as the previous poster mentioned you can probably do better by building from scratch, or ordering directly from Cyber Power PC and customizing.

Two things you should keep in for gaming computers:

    1) A fast dual-core CPU like a 3Ghz E8400 is better than a 2.4Ghz quad-core Q6600.

    2) The CPU is much less important than your graphics card. The graphics card is where to spend extra $$$ to boost your gaming performance.

A system with a $500 processor and a $200 graphics card gets beaten badly by a system with a $200 processor and $500 graphics card.  No matter how much CPU power you've got, framerates are limited by how fast your video card pumps out pixels. And the difference between cards in the $100 and $300 price ranges is huge.

Here are some more options... On the ibuypower system you could replace the 9600GT card (sell it) with a Radeon 4870. Or get either Cyber Power unit.
