..what is the best people search engine???Does anyone on here know of a good deep-web search engine??? I'm helping a kid trying to find his mom..but this is a stumper. She has a very common name. (USA). Thank you.

Fire fox is the most powerfull.

I don't know if you have an electro rall in america, but that is also a good way of finding people.

I go to http://www.ussearch.com and then I run a search for the name and assumed age. For free it will bring up a matches in different places. I take those matches, and then go somewhere like http://www.blackbookonline.info and I look at their "state resources" that are free ways to track people in the specific state and that helps. They also have free name and address finders, but I heard Intellius is GOOD too.

( if its really common like "smith" this probably won't work and you should move onto http://www.intellius.

If you have any more information like the town she was from, you can do a regular web search like, "jane doe, chicago, illinois, lawyer", and use something associated with her life, like arrested, or beauty pagent.  The more information you have, the better.  I use whitepages.com, and narrow things down by states.  I found my ex-husband (father of my son), after 17 years, but had to pay to do a search, as he was running from the law.  I went to 3 towns, and simply asked a policeman if he knew him, introduced the cop to my son, and 15 minutes later they met for the first time (my husband left me the day he found out I was pregnant, even though he had planned for us to get that way).  It turned out to be a good meeting, but are this child's parents aware you are looking for his mom?  Is it in his best interests?  If she's not around, there might be good reasons for it.  Make sure the child is stable enough to face bad answers.  Good luck

Some good advice so far.   If you join a search group specific to your State there are search angels with access to many different sites and the more people looking the better.

I have netdetective and one other paid for site if you need any look-ups I'm happy to do so

Don't forget to check the city directories, some libraries are getting these put online now which is even more helpful and also classmates.com and Reunion.com too

That's really kind of you to help someone with their search.  He has a name, so it's only a matter of process of elimination (long and tedious but you'll get there)

try to go to the hospital where the kid is born and look under hes/her name and find out..! :  )

If the child was adopted there is a place were the parent can register so in the future if the child wants to find them they can.... hope it helps

Have you tried Intellius?  Although there's a fee, it's only $8.00.  You can search by state.

Of course, zabasearch.com is free.

ETA:

Firefox is a Web browser, not a search engine.  But, as with any Web browser, you use search engines with it   ;-)

If the online databases like Intellius just aren't cutting it (since Intellius is a rather thorough database,) you may have to resort to hiring someone.  

Is the problem that you just come up with way too many results when you search?
