Need help with Audio problems?

I've been having problems with my Audio for awhile now and have had it fixed many of times and for awhile had to download drivers for it,which had worked for it,but I had to have my pc repaired lately and they said my Audio is working fine,But it's not working at all,None of the Audio adjustments are highlighted for volume and mixer etc;it's saying it's working properly,but no sound and without these highlighted I can't move Volume up.as it's way down.so is there anyone who can help me find away to get them to highlight so l can try and fix the problem.

Can you provide your motherboard model so that i can help with finding drivers also try uninstalling and reinstalling them ,make sure you have the latest chipset drivers for the board
