I've been trying to get into MMA and know nothing about martial arts. What types of classes should i take in order to be successful in MMA? The actual class first? Or classes like brazilian jujitsu and wrestling first? Thanks

  1. go to a local gym and say u want to do mma, if they dont have a program specificalfy for mma, then they will start by teaching u kickboxing and bjj ,thats how it usualy goes

  2. i would take...jujitsu ,brazillian jujitsu , or judo....one of them

  3. You will need to know a stand-up and a ground game. Like wrestling+boxing or BJJ+Muay Thai

  4. Do what works for others. Right now the best MMartist in the world is a brazilian jiu jitsu black belt and muay thai kickboxer(Anderson Silva). Look for a brazilian jiu jitsu school that is competition oriented. Also look for a muay thai or kick boxing academy that is competitive. Just start training and get in touch  with other MMAs in your area.

  5. Do a search for a Knuckle Up Fitness and see if one is in your area.  They will get you where you want to be.

  6. Find a school that teaches Muay Thai and BJJ... they aren't really hard to find anymore... they are basically what they call "MMA" schools. Type in your county name in google and then write "MMA" "Muay Thai" "Jiujitsu" etc. You might find results.

  7. develop a good ground game first.

    Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
