Hi, I'm now 16 and in my school we often have to do speaking exercises in different languages. My problem is I'm always really nervous (shaking, dry mouth, ...). I'd like to have some advice of people who have had that problem too.

Please don't say: "Imagine them all naked" or something, cause that just doesn't work.

Anyway, Thx 4 Answering.

  1. imagine them all naked.

  2. I usually sing to expand my voice and sing in front of people to get over speecch shyness. But just do it for the grade, that thoguht helps. Or i think of things to look forward to (like HSm 3 or whatever you can't want to come, like a new day). Good luck!

  3. Okay, you can trust me, cause for one, I'm 15, only a year younger than you, so you can relate to me. Also, I'm in MUN; I practically give speeches at colleges. You breath evenly, in through your nose, out through your mouth. Remember that most of the people there watching you give a speech, don't really care what you're saying, so focus only on the teacher. Make eye contact with somebody familiar in the room, and pretend like you're only speaking to them. Look around the room a few times (if you don't want to look at their faces, look above their heads) and often go back to your familiar face. Speak slowly (so you don't get nervous and start speaking at super sonic speed). Good luck :] hope this helps.
