Need thoughts about a guy!?

i have this guy friend(just friends) we met through a mutual friend.we started keeping in touch by email,about a month and a half back.shortly after his pc broke and we didnt have any contact for a month.recently he emailed me and told me his pc was fixed so he wants us to keep regular contact.the thing is we emailed a few times and now i havent heard from him in a week.im very confused as to why he emailed in the first place if he was gonna stick around.what do you guys make of this? any ideas appreciated!

just wait another week, if you don't hear from him send another email saying

"hey its me I just wondered why I haven't heard from you. So what have you been doing lately? I have been___________"

just say what you have been doing the past few weeks. If you don't hear from him, wait till you see him in person to ask. But don't ask as if you are waiting bu your computer screen just say "I haven't head from you lately."

i dont think its that big of a deal and he will come back when he is ready maybe he is just busy
