Neil Back: Morale is high
Leeds coach Neil Back says morale at the club is high despite a number of defeats in the club's opening matches.
Leeds is currently bottom of the table and has not won a single game. However, Back says there are no negative thoughts at the club and the first win will come in no time.
"We have quality players and quality leadership here now within the squad. They will not let people splinter and will keep everything together. The spirit is still high. We have a lot of pride and we'll
come out fighting. So we are slightly off the pace. It's not a case of fitness or physicality, it's just match practice," said Back.
Things do not get any easier for Leeds as the club is preparing to play London Irish this weekend. London Irish leads the table but Back has promised that his team will not be pushovers.
It's very important that Leeds get a win on the board as quickly as possible. However, if the club does not react quickly then Leeds could stay at the bottom of the table for the majority of this season.
A win is needed
There is only so much a coach can do to keep the morale and spirit of his team high when losses keep piling up. A win would ease pressure on all areas of the club.
It would create a little bit of confidence and belief among the players. The players will start coming into training with smiles on faces and the belief that the side can beat any other team.
A win will also help Leeds to slowly climb the table. It's important for the club to try and gain ground on other sides that are quickly pulling away in the league so far this season.
A grim outlook
Leeds' situation looks very grim because it's easy to see how the club can stay rooted to the bottom of the league. There are a lot of teams playing well, fighting and winning Premiership points.
All the time that Leeds does not get a win on the board is time that other sides are using to pull away from the relegation places. This means the distance is increasing all the time and it could quickly
become impossible for Leeds to react.
"Hopefully when we get everyone fit and well we can up the intensity and physicality in training and that will have a carry over into games. We've played four games and there are 18 to go. This time last
season we have two points at this stage, this time we have one. We know at our best we can beat anyone, we just haven't been at our best yet," he added.
Betting advice
Leeds is struggling at the moment but the side has enough quality to be safe by next spring time. Back Leeds to stay up and do it now before the odds shorten hugely with a win.
Leeds will win a game in the near future. Be wary of backing them this weekend because London Irish is in great form. Wait one or two matches until Leeds plays a team in the same sort of position in the
table. Back will fire up his players to make sure they win this sort of contest.
There are a number of players that you could back in the Leeds team. The kicker is always a great bet in a side that isn't playing well. This is because the kicker will always have chances to score, even
if there are no tries being scored.
