im looking for a neodymium magnet for a science project, what household electronics might have them?

  2. Also a bad hardisk  has neodymium magnets(at the heads drive where the coils are)!!!

Many speakers will have magnets of this type.  It's not guaranteed they're neodymium, but a decent speaker will have a strong rare-earth magnet.  Unfortunately you do have to sacrifice the speaker to get the magnet out.  Perhaps you can buy a speaker cheaply at Goodwill or similar store.  You can also get strong magnets at hardware stores.  They are sometimes at the check out counter.  Again, I don't know if they're neodymium but they might be.  Ask and see.
