  1. Pain management specialists are the typical ones to refer someone for this.  Another option is to see a physiatrist...although they don't typically do it themselves, they often know "who to go to" for this procedure (typically done by an anesthesiologists).

  2. I would go see an anesthesologist who specializes in pain medicine.

  3. I work for a Physiatrist (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) We treat people with your condition all the time, Are you a minor by chance? if so, they might have given you that speech, because once you start out on narcotic thearpy, it is hard to get off of them But if a nerve block is what you seek than a PMR doctor should be able to help. Here is a link to find a doctor in your area.

  4. Nerve blocks can be done by Pain Management doctors (some of which are neurologists or anesthesiologists) or even just general neurologists if they are comfortable with it.  I would recommend a consultation with a Pain Management doctor if you haven't already to see what they say.

  5. I'm not fond of nerve blocks and neither is my pain doctor. The doctors doing these nerve blocks make a lot of money off them and they rarely work like promised... so you end up going back, giving 'em more of your money.

But if you've decided on it, talk to a neurologist and an anethesioogist.

There are a lot more less invasive ways to treat chronic pain, have you had the chance to research that?

    Good luck to you!
