Nery Castillo has another offer.?

Personally i think that Nery Castillo is the best FORWARD in the Mexican National team.

He was not called up to the National Team due to him dealing with this, and him not being in 'playing rythm'.

He has two Official offers, from two clubs-

Roma(Italy)

He and his representative have one week to choose from either Club.

Obviously he will choose, depending if they give him playing time.

I'd say Betis because Roma has Totti, Baptista, and possibly suazo.

Then again he would get much more recognition in Italy. First Mexican en la seria A

the number 1 priority for him has to be if he starts games and gets playing time. i don't care where it is (as long as it's a decent club).

now that he has an option, this priority needs to be his reason to go.

i think if he works hard he can start at Roma, but Betis is easier to start.

nery will probably pick Roma because he will get publicity, Roma is a better club, and Roma will be in the CL. i think he should go with Betis and work his way to Roma. some argue that when he was in greece he developed his talents and such so he should go to Roma. i disagree. though i prefer Roma, i feel it will just be a bench warming thing for him. go to betis, nery!

well you would think nery should choose betis but people from roma are sying that he would play winger because they dont have a winger but if i was him i would choose betis because he would play his natrual postion foward and i think he would get garantee palying time

Nery should definetly go to Betis its the best thing for him.

There he could prove the great player he is and then get the attention

of a bigger spanish club. Nerys style of playing belongs to La Liga

not Serie A.

Roma is PERFECT for Nery!

First, it's in Serie A. I think his skill and speed would translate well into the Italian style of catenaccio.

Second, Roma is a Champions League contender, they're not likely to win it, but they are amongst the elite. And they're cheap, so they don't spend tons of money on name players. So this means guys like Nery will get a chance. They really only have Totti and Vucinic for true forwards currently (not counting Baptista) on their roster. Nery would fit right in.

Third, It would be nice to finally see a Mexican player in the Serie A. I personally can't think of any Mexican player who has played in Serie A, much less played well there. Can anyone confirm this?

Obviously Roma is the better team but what is the most convenient thing for Nery? Betis of course. Nery needs to prove himself to the world, (you guys might hate on me for this but lets be honest scoring a great goal against Brazil and being a good player in Greece), so he can be like the foreigners who come to Mexico. All the foreigners who come to Mexico mostly all are guaranteed a starting spot because they proved to be good players in their previous teams. So Nery needs to become a great player in Betis so the top Spanish Clubs will look at him and in the beginning not make him compete for a starting spot but hand it to him and see how he does. So Nery to Betis become great there 2 years from now go to a better Spanish Club. The Spanish League is for a player with Nery's qualities, not the Italian league.

Nery should go to Roma. People are saying he needs to go to Betis to prove himself, but it's about time he started playing for contenders. Who's going to push him at Betis? At Roma he's going to fight for a starting spot and this is what is going to make him a better player. Everyone knows how cocky he is, he's gonna prove himself on the team and by that time the soccer world will know he means business. At Betis he's just going to be that lone striker that is carrying his team and it'll take a few years before clubs get interest. Plus, maybe Totti can teach him a thing or two about controlling his temper. Remember the days when Totti stamped on, spit at, and punched people? Those are long gone. This is Nery's chance, I just hope he takes it.

With Julio Baptista being transferred to Roma from Real, and having Totti as forwards it will be really tough for Nery to start. But Totti is injury prone, which might help his chances at starting. That's if Roma plays with two forwards. Roma is the better squad of the two. With Roma he has a legitimate chance at wining Series A and Champions League.

Sorry, but yes, I can: Look at the simple facts, and look them up if you don't believe me: 9 years in Europe, and he has a total of 30 goals. Do the math: about 3 goals a year. In the last 2 years, since he left Olympiacos, he has 0 (zero) goals. He hasn't scored in Europe in 2 years!!!! This is your best forward? This guy has been a bust everywhere he's gone. He had to pay his own transfer fee---LOL!!!! He should be trying to find a job with Real Salt Lake, where maybe he could make a contribution....Oh, and give me all the thumbs down you want, but that won't change the simple facts and the simple truth...

Well Roma is a bigger team so he is gonna have more pressure there. But he will get more attention if he does good in there. If he moves to Betis it will be easier for him to adapt because of the language and stuff.

I say he should move to Roma though.
