Although http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup’s side have netted the ball multiple times, they have struggled miserable to guard their goal in the last three games, conceding seven times.
The Dane’s defensive problems were further compounded by injuries to Neil Taylor and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kyle-Bartley-c21555 and after Chico Flores got suspended for three games after picking a straight red card against Sunderland.
Earlier, during the transfer window, Swansea sold Caulker, Allen and Sinclair.
The exodus of Allen and Sinclair was viewed by many as a huge setback for the Swans, as they look to survive in the English top-flight this term.
Neville, however, had a different say on the subject.
The 35-year old was of the opinion that the biggest loss which Swansea suffered during the transfer window was that of Caulker.
In order to elaborate his point, the Evertonian midfielder cited the defender’s remarkable performance in the prevenient term. He observed that the strikers in the Premier League had become more innovative and potent lately, and that the English International
was a modern day defender.
“They've lost a couple of really good players - [Scott] Sinclair [to Manchester City] and Joe Allen [to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809],” he said.
“And I think out of all the players that Swansea have lost this season, maybe Caulker was the one that they probably miss more than anything because in the Premier League forwards are getting quicker, better technically and goal scoring this season has been
frightening.”
After getting their EPL campaign off to a flyer, the Swans have been pegged down by back-to-back defeats in their last two games.
Commenting on last Saturday’s match, the Neville felt that their opponents were completely outplayed on the day.
He also believed that the Swans were a little bit nervy against his team, and lacked the physical force in their game.
“I think that had a little bit of a mental thing in Saturdays' game… we're a physical team and Swansea are a technical team. They probably don't have the physicality that we've got,” he added.
