New Baby - Present Advice?

One of my friends is 8 and a half months pregnant!

She has already been bought plenty of baby clothes, a pram, cot, nappie etc etc. There doesn't seem to be anything else they require, and i want to buy them a nice memorable gift.

Any ideas?

One of my favourite presents when I had my baby was a baby book.

It is something that I will be able to keep forever!

Either get one of those kits where she can make a plaster cast of her bump or buy a kit where you can make an impression of the babies hand/foot

I would buy a nice gold necklas with her name engraved on one side and her birthdate engraved on the other side. Of course, since you dont know when she will have the baby exactly, Id wait to get it done as soon as she or he is born.

I am on the computer doing the same exact thing!! I just ordered 2 magazine subscriptions for her... she is in labor right now as we speak. This is her and her husbands first baby so I ordered her American Baby and Parents magazine.Search it online (cheap magazines) you can get subscriptions for CHEAP!!! Also I am ordering a name meaning plaque and a personalized pictured frame (personalizationmall.com) Good luck!! Also do a search for unique baby gifts, that may help you.

get her a picture frame for the baby's first year in has a picture space from birth through eery month a big space in the middle for the first birthday, there great i got one for a present when i had my child

u could get them a set that holds birth certificate, first tooth and a little bank ( 3 separate items) it cums in silver they can also get it ingraved most have a space for the name. u can get them from most jewellery store hope this helps xx

Does she have a boppy pillow? Those are great, especially if she's nursing but either way the baby learns to sit up in it and does tummy time on it too.

A really cute picture frame or silver set for the first tooth, spoon, birth certificate etc.. would be cute. Lots of people don't think of that kind of thing and it will last forever...

How about a baby book for her to record the first all important milestones? When I was pregnant, I appreciated gifts for ME! So many people focused on the baby I felt almost invisible, so I was hugely touched when an aunt turned up with a stuffed teddy with my name on it.

buy your friend a nice foot and hand massage - that would be wonderful and she'll remember it forever.

or a baby charm/shield mum can wear on a chain. You could have baby's name engraved on the back?

or buy baby a foot print poster pack. Get a beautiful photo frame and some cardboard, and some acrylic paint. once baby is born, paint his or her feet, and press the cardboard against the feet. Wait till dry, pop in a frame and they'll have it as a memorable keepsake forever.
