New border controls at Manchester Airport...?

Question

For those with biometric passports, you will go through check-in via a computer, that will scan your face and let you through. You will NOT go through check-in desk.

Is this a good idea? What's to stop people going through where the person on the passport scans their face so someone else goes through?

If I'd had my photo taken 10 years ago before kids and then tried to get my face recognised now I'd never get on the tarmac...:-(

I am sure there will be other security in place so as this does not happen, UK airports ar the safest in the world with the highest security in place.
