Well i have been havign problems with new contacts in my left eye and the doctor told me i have bad astigmatism in that eye but it seems after 3 different contacts in that eye the vision is still blurry which 2 of them was from the same brand checking to see if it was a defected lense and now a new brand but im limited to only like 2-3brand for that left eye because my CYL is 2.75 which i dont know if its correct and the doctor messed up because is it normal for the prescription to be correct and still the vision to that eye is blurry? Because i cant read anything with that contact in even if i 1-2inches away from it. Plus its causing discomfort in my left eye and making it itch more and causing me to rub my eye. So whats should i tell the doctor when i see him next week and is there any certain thing i can suggest that could be causing this? i mean he has like measured my left eye a few times and has looked at my eye while the contact has been in.

  1. It sounds like your Dr. is having a hard time with it, but really trying.

All your symptoms with that lens point to it fitting too tight. It probably looks fine at his office, then tightens up a couple of hours later. Torics often do that. The blur and discomfort, the itching...are all signs of that.

I wonder if he is trying to correct your full cyl power , or is your cyl in glasses Rx even stronger than 2.75

If your actual cyl power is a 2.75 or 3.00, then dropping the cyl in the contact to a 2.25 usually gives even better vision in my experience...but your Dr. is probably aware of that too. That would also open up several more brands for you to trial.

But...your immediate problem isn't the prescription, it's the fit.

There are so many variables in a complicated toric lens fitting...I guess all you can do is trust your Dr. to find a solution for you. It's pretty well impossible to second guess what he is actually seeing on you.

I wish you lots of luck...hopefully it will work out.
