New iPod Nano or iTouch?

Question

so im doing the deal with the whole "For college, if you buy a MacBook then you get a free iPod"

sooo is it the new Ipod Nano (3rd Generation) or the iTouch?

which one should i get?

since both are free, money is not a problem(yay!)

what are the pros and cons of both? what is better to get?

ive seen both, and idk which is better....

I would definitely go with the iTouch.

Pros or the iTouch:

works like a PDA (which is really good since your in college)

In areas with wifi connection you can access the internet (safari)

A nice widescreen for great video watching,

but most of all... it's a touch screen!!

Pros of iPod nano 3g:

Small (therefore portable)

Yeah that is all I can think of...

The cons of both:

They CAN and WILL break (but doesn't everything sooner or later?)

The backs get pretty scratched up :(



So all in all, you should pick the iTouch if you want more of a PDA/iPod/safari mp3 (that is somewhat less compact)

Or you can pick the nano which is smaller, but no pretty widescreen or touch screen just a small regular screen.

But all in all they are both pretty good in battery life and what not...

I just saved up money for the iPod Touch. I've had it probably a couple weeks now and I LOVE it! I use it all the time. I would personally say the iPod touch. I'd be afraid I'd lose the Nano. But in my opinion, I would most definitely choose the iPod Touch

Eh, if you were buying I would say neither, but how many GBs of music do they hold? Thats what I would look at, and the one that can fit more songs is the one I would go for.

It depends whether you're a big music listener or you'd like a PDA-type gadget.

If you're looking for something to listen to music on all the time, get the Nano.

The iPod touch is good for music, but it's more focused on the applications in there--web, planner, games, etc.

Personnaly I would get the itouch becos:

You can touch it=)

You can go on the internet

You can watch movies, but on a bigger screen

Its very sleek.

But the good things about the ipod nano anre that:

You can hold it in your pocket

Its very light

If youre used to the scroll its easier to use

Id choose iTouch

well that depends. do u consider ur self to have big fingers or small fingers?

big fingers = ipod 3G

small fingers = itouch

its touch screen! coolness!

can play movies, tv shows, music vids, holds pix, and songs and just about everything else.

it somes with pretty much all the features of a phone except the calling and talking [calendar, calaculater, clock, alarm clock, etc]

touch screen devices break EXTREMEMLY easily

it is very confusing.

humidity, and even the tinyest drop of water can make it break.

if it does break, it cost alot more money to fix at the apple store than any other ipod.

most iHomes dont fit the itouch ipod

it is not as cool as the itocuh ipod ( l0l )

iPod touch is great but its big, the nano is small but basic.

The touch has Wi-Fi internet so its great for traveling. If you don't mind its size go for the touch.

If size is highly important take the nano.

I have the 3rd gen. nano and I LOOVE it! its easy to use, has a nice screen, and has a good battery life. the only problem I see with the iTouch (but idk from experience) is that the screen may get greasy from you touching it all the time..and it would be annoying if you accidentally touched a button if it was in your pocket or something...that could get obnoxious after a while.

iPod Nanos are sweet and compact and have good memory

They are easy to carry around

The iTouch is fun to use, seriously. My friends have them and they're so fun.

But they are bulky and if you tip something on it...ouch

And with a Nano you can get different colours

I say itouch its way cooler than the nano, plus the nano is really common... I know a ton of people of have the new nano but I only know like 2 people with the itouch. but its completely up to you but if I was in your situation I would choose the itouch. good luck at college!

iPod nanos are great. they are small so they will fit in your pocket, they come in lots of different colors if you don't want classic black or white, they have A LOT of memory if you want to put a lot of movies, songs or pictures on them. of course they're small so if you wanted to watch a movie on a bigger screen, i would get the iTouch. they sync easily and normally. i like them.

iTouches are also great (i just bought one a couple days ago). the touch screen is amazing, i love the app store, i love how it does youtube and the internet. It has maps and the weather and a calculator. it seems like the only thing this iPod can't do is call people (that's what the iPhone is for). The only issues are that it does not have a lot of memory, but nevermind, that wouldn't be an issue cause money doesn't matter. you get the 32GB and not have to pay $500. also, mine was a pain to get set up. i kept trying to sync it with my computer, but it would never put everything that i wanted on it. it woould maybe put on 78 songs and one movie instead of 250 songs and 3 movies. that was a pain. also, the new software for the iTouch is $10 (it should be free) and it just would not install on my iPod! eventually i got it to work (i had my engineer parents look at it). when mine iTouch was screwed up, i did research and it seemed like a lot of people were having those problems. so just be ready for something like that to happen. my iTouch works fine now, but it was really annoying.

if moneys not a problem, id get the itouch! its just like the iphone but no phone. you can get lots of cool apps like aim and internet and games.

id say the nano because

and the itouch has been said to be defective

because of the fact that it works with your fingers

and sometimes our fingers have dirt or stuff like that

so id say go with the nano
