ok so im a girl, 14, about to be 15. i have a small bedroom at the moment that i absoultely hate. i got my parents to agree to let me move in the bonus room of my house. it is verryyy big. so i'll have lots of room. i have a whole theme in my room im in now, but i dont want as much of a theme this time. i still kinda want a theme but not so much that i cant add like posters n pictures n that kinda stuff on my wall.

im really into rock music, playing gutair, surfing, the beach, and peace/hippie stuff. just random stuff like that. (im not exactually a really girly girl) lol.

but anywayzzz, i need help on deciding how 2 decorate it. likee what colors do u think the walls should be, what kinda bedding n furniture n just stuff like that.

just tell me what ya think! plzz helpp.

ohhh and if u have a website that shows some kool designs pleaseee tell me it or give me the link. i do alot better when i can actually see pictures of things.

  1. i think maybe some like dark color walls not so dark though like a brown, gray, or even a black. for furniture like a desk or something wood. it would really look nice in a darker room. for your bedding if you go to meijers or walmart-even target you can get like pretty bed sets coming with everything you need for a bed so maybe like a lighter blue bed set. then buy like a bean bag chair or something along with some peace sign pillows. and one cool idea i guess get like a surf board and hang it up on your wall. lastly just get like a guitar stand if you have a guitar and put it against a wall. well thats what i think so i hope it helped! ohh also watch some hgtv for designs on tv

  2. u sound a lot like me. i'll be 16 next month. ^_^

hmm, depend on what u have now to work with really. and how much ur allowed to spend on it. i like a more modern look, with little accents of personaliatly to it. shelving is a must. it allows good storage and a good look at the same time. find a buch of posters u like, or apintings, or make ur own, or have ur friends make some. what kind of bed do you have and how will it be arranged? i keep mine in the corner, well, used to, now i just have pillows cause i honestly don't like actual beds that much. anyway, arrange it comfortabley and have sheets on it that are a differnt color than the walls, which should be a favorite color of urs. if i could paint, mine would be either deep purple or red/black. solid walls bored me, so if possible, if ur like me, u might could paint a design on them or use stencils. u'll want some siple and attractive that u won't get sick of though, cause they'll be there for a while until u change it again. If you have higher ceilings hanging stuff that comes down would be nice. like little stars that dangle. not the best idea of u have a ceiling fan. and for regualr ceilings either plain or with flat suff is good. like the bed, the ccurtains should be a differnt color than the walls. solids look the best to me, with simple patterns maybe. i like stars mainly. bean bag cahirs would go great with anything just about, and provide seating for when u have friends over and everything, and a low table would be nice too. u can get cute little storage bin things for stuff that u can do, like keep games in them or stuff. i use em for arts stuff alot, and for notebooks cause i write a lot. also shleving again, great for books, which always seems to make a room seem nicer, more maturish. stuffed animals are a good touch too. lol. you could have a nice corner for ur guitar, have it on it's stand and it'll look as part of the decor and look awesome. with the posters, spread them out a bit and don't go tooo overboard. ur desk and dresser also will take up room, so keep those in mind as u pick stuff out on how to do everything. maybe u should pick what ur gonna keep of everything, put it in there about how u think u want it, then go shopping for new stuff and have a design in ur head. good places are target, walmart, hottopic has good stuff, and places like that, and random thrift stores and yard sales to add ur own touch aside from the basic and impersonal stuff. have fun with it, sorry i don't have any links.

  3. nope

  4. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

Since you like the beach, then I think it would be ultra cool to do a SandScape faux finish on the wall. It has the texture of sand. Under "explore colors,"  click the cirlce that says "by collection" and then choose "faux finishes" from the drop-down menu. Then scroll over to the SandScapes. I love the color called "pumpkin spice" (# 7178).

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

And here's heaps of cool funky retro bedding:
