  1. The weather in June depends on where you are on the island. Basically you are looking at cool to warm days and brisk to cold nights. Bring everything from summer clothes to winter parkas.

As far as non touristy things, they abound on The Rock. Go up into Gros Morne National Park if you love to hike or find secluded beaches and dunes. You will see plenty of Moose and scenes that I think make Newfoundland the Ireland of the Americas. Gorgeous large mountains and Bluffs for as far as the eye can see. Stay away from St. Johns if you don't want toursity things but it is a really cool town.

Another cool place to go is Little Bay Islands, about 10 miles north of Springdale. Really cool boating community and some great and friendly people, but you'll find that everywhere.

One last thing, there is a Large B&B in Springdale called The Riverview... It is an amazing 4.5 star place to stay. I have stayed in alot of places but this is on my top 3!

Have fun in Newfoundland and beware of the Moose and Mounties when you're driving!
