NiMh rechargeable batteries?

Question

Do you have to decharge these fully before recharging? What if you wanted a fully charged set for your flash gun? How do you decharge them to recherge them for an important photo shoot? I have 2 sets, but want to take both sets fully charged. My flash gun doesn't show the battery level.

make sure that you always have fully charged set of batteries all of the time with you

No, what you're thinking of is applicable to memory build-up in the old fashioned NiCad batteries.  However, NiMH batteries do not have a recharge memory problem.  You can "top them off" whenever you like.
