  1. So are you talking about the Rio Mar Beach Resort wyndam in Rio Grande?? If so, that is a very nice hotel. You will love it. Its right near El Yunque rain forest. Go there & walk the trails & swim in the waterfalls. Also at night check out the bioluminescent laggon nearby in Fajardo. Its called Las Croabas Lagoon (la laguna grande). It glows in the dark & you can kayak in it. Now as far as nightlife goes, you won't find much here. A few local bars are around, you might see festivals going on, or the hotel might have a lounge or something. Otherwise nightlife is mostly in Old San Juan, but don't worry your only about 40  minutes away. You can rent a car a thrifty for about $28 per day. Just dont drink & drive :) Check out these nightlife links:

  2. Yes, San Juan is the capital city where activities of Puerto Rico center around it. This is the link to a good article to help you.

  3. there are always bars and things like that in every town but if you really wanted night life, you should have opted to find your own lodgings somewhere near Old San Juan.  maybe something in Isla Verde which is a sort of touristy area and is about 15 minutes from Old San Juan.   You are going to go to the Wyndham and have the same old resort-like activities that you can find anywhere on earth.  If you really want to experience the fun and life of going somewhere exotic, you want to stay away from resorts.. unless the island is potentially dangerous, which Puerto Rico is definitely not.  Good luck and make sure you google those directions to Old San Juan  lol
