Nike vs. Titleist vs. Callaway?

Which one of these balls would be a better investment and of these brands, which model. I have hit all. I hit the Callaway Tour ix the straightest and longer. The Pro V1x goes farthest and I putt and chip the Nike One Platinum best. I would just get the Platinums all the time, but they are so expensive, is there a ball that is cheaper but is comparable with the platinum. Or should i use a different ball, HELP PLEASE

  1. If I were you I would pick up a box of Srixon golf balls.  I really am finding them to be the best ball out there for about 35 bucks a box.  Sure as heck beats the 49.99 a box for pro-v1s at the local club.  I have played the B330 and have found it to be an incredible ball but was completely unable to control it around the green.

If you're looking for a cheap golf ball for a good price, go to your local Golf Galaxy and pick up a box of Nike TA2 Spins.  They're about 15.99 a box and are a really solid ball, almost similar to the platinum.

  2. I have hit all Balls as you have and I have found the PROV1X to be the best , The only Alternative that I have found that plays like a PROV1X is the Bridgestone B300 and it is about 7.00 less a Dozen than the PROV .

    Good Luck.

  3. I like the TourIX as well, but like you said, they are SOOOO expensive. If you want to try a cheaper ball that performs great, check out the maxfli noodles, I LOVE EM. other than those try the Dunlop Loco Bite.

Those are great balls. Think about it,  give them a try, if you happen to really like one of them it can save you tons!

  4. Have you tried the Taylormade Red or Black. They have big improvements and are actually longer than Titliest Pro V's.

  5. I think that the titleist pro VIx is the best all around ball in terms of feel, workability, and distance but 2 other balls that are similar quality for less are the Bridgestone B-330 or B-330 S balls or the Srixon Z-Urc which I personally think is the best bang for your buck.

  6. Try the NXT tour or the New Top Flight Gamer. They are both long and straight, good around the greens, and butter off the irons. I like the NXT better, but for value, the Gamer does rock.

  7. callaway - good ball and cheap

  8. Bridgestone E6+

  9. I buy nxt tour for $6 a dozen clean used. Pro v1's for $9 a doz at local flea mkt. I ordered some clubs on line and received 1 doz recycled nxt tour free loved them after that used is all I buy.

  10. Yeah if you like the ProV1x then the cheaper alternative would be the Bridgestone b300. I think the Prov1 is better altogether though, its all down to personal prefferance and how you play, if your long off the tee already, and you don't need anymore distance then choose a ball with more spin or feel. whereas if you don't hit the ball far and you need more distance go for the 1 which goes further. Don't just get a ball cause it goes 5yards futher choose a one which feels best i say. I use the ProV1 as thats what college gives, but my team back home in UK gives out the Bridgestone equivelent tour b300-s!

  11. I would hit the ball you like and buy your balls from a recycled ball shop.  You can get them online, or might find a shop near you.  I use www.cheapgolfballs.com

I can get a dozen PROV1x for around $20, and the others mentioned Bridgestone 330's, Callaway HX Tour, Nike One Platinum, Taylormade TP Red, Srixon URC, etc... are even cheaper.  The only thing is you might get some extra ink on the ball (someones logo, some dots where they've been marked).  This doesn't bother me at all and is well worth it for the $$$ savings.

    Good Luck,

    JC
