Nikon L18 as a webcam?

i have a nikon L18 and i want to know if i can use it as a webcam on my mac. What would i need to download too

Not on any computer.

My Mac has a webcam on it ... but why would you want to attempt to do use a P&S camera as a webcam?  

Why won't it work?  There is an automatic shutoff feature to save battery energy.  There is no way to provide low quality streaming video to the computer (your camera has a sensor that is at least 4 times larger and has over 8 times the pixel count of the best webcam).

You spent the money on an expensive computer, just spend the $30 or $40 on a real webcam
