No Free Pop At Mcdonald.?

I work at fast food Mcdonald. We do not give out free pop to customers. The lowest cost is 1.09 for small pop. Our soda is self serve. We notice many teenagers and some kids would ask for water. We do give free water cups. So we see teenagers or kids get free pop instead of water that they ask for. It got to be so much of problems my managers decided not to give water cup to teenagers anymore. We still give water cup to adults and senior citzens. Now teenagers and kids are mad at us because we don't give them free water cup. What your ideas on that?

I think you're in for a discrimination lawsuit.  You can't give to one group and not to the other.  If you're giving anyone a free cup and they are taking advantage unfairly, then have an employee who monitors the situation.  If teens or anyone are getting soda in the free cup then call them on it and charge them after the fact.

keep the soda machine behind the counter, so then they ask for a soda, you can get it for them.

but keep the water machine out where anybody can use it.

why not watch them or give them water from the drive thru call the cops for stealing if they really care

thats not fair....obviously not all teenagers do that...

some of them doing it is not a good enough reason to make them all pay for water. the mentality you have here is called ageism (which alot of people have to some degree, and some people dont even think it is a real thing.)

often times teenagers have the misfortune of being thrown together in one category and the assumption placed that they are all the same, behavioraly. no doubt some people have read this thought instantly to themselves "yes that makes sense! they need to get what they deserve for doing that!" but that defies reason.

EDIT: uhm im not sure what you meant to say in your additional details...(im guessing either english is not your first language or you are not taking very much effort in your typing)...but what you said was that you dont allow teenagers to have free cups of water....

so what are you trying to say now? that that wasnt true? please explain.

i often dont bother with my grammer while typing online either, its just that on this yahoo answers thing the whole thing is about comunicating information, so if i dont understand what you mean by something...the process isnt really working...

Where I live, water is given and filled from behind the counter in a clear plastic 8 or 10 oz. cup. If someone tries to take it to the pop machine they are asked to leave immediately, or to pay for a pop or have the cops the called...depends on situation. (It's Detroit)

Do what the sit-down restaurants do when they notice someone who didn't order the soup and salad bar eating food from someone else who did. Charge them for it. I know that's hard in fast food, but the other alternative is to call the police. Technically what they are doing is stealing.

I beleive that there are somethings you just cant stop, that is one of them. Who cares about a small soda? McDonalds makes SO MUCH money everyday that a small soda isn't ****,even a million small sodas isn't ****. Some people are just greedy..........Up yours Ronald Mcdonald!!!.....haha j/k

i have yet to see a mcdonalds that is self serve, mcdonalds is such a common place and busy all of the time no matter where it is,  So with the more people you see, it doesn't surprise me that your giving out alot of cups and water, your mcdoanlds has it accessible to the customers, and it's basically letting them have however much they want without control.
