Who would be the best golfer if Phil and Tiger were never born? I think Chris DiMarco would have a few major wins under his belt.

But what you have to remember is that when these two (woods and mickleson) are not in the field, there is no one person who dominates.  It is really a free for all, so pegging the "best golfer" excluding woods and phil is tough, near impossible.

Tough question.  I would have to agree with you that DiMarco would be right up there, along with Jim Furyk and Sergio Garcia.  It's interesting to think of all of the players that were leading or second after three rounds and self-destructed after being paired with Tiger.  How many of them might have just held onto win without the intimidation?
