Question:

No period yet on Yasmin?

I have taken Yasmin for over a year now, and always get my period 2 days into my placebo pills. Due to pelvic problems, I have taken active pills for 5 months straight. I know this is not recommended but in order to seek treatment for my pelvis I can't be on my period, I had no choice. Anyways, I stopped the active pills 5 days ago and have yet to get my period, only a tiny bit of spotting. I had intercourse once in the past month but I was on the pill, used protection, and he pulled out. Should I be worried?

  1. stop taking birth control, it causes cancer and its very unhealthy for your body

  2. I wouldnt be too concerned...if you've ever missed even a pill or two you know how easy it is for your period to get messed up.  Taking the active pills for 5 months in a row has probably really thrown off your hormones.  Think about it this way - when you first start the pill they tell you to use protection just in case, because it takes the hormones a while to get in your system.  It also takes them a while to leave, so you're probably going to miss your period during this placebo pill time.  You might get it randomly this month, you might just skip to next month... I would think a gynecologist would have a better estimate of when to expect your body to get back to normal, so don't be afraid to call up and ask! =)  I really really really don't think it's pregnancy.

  3. no. Obviously your period is all messed up because you've been taking your birth coontrol all outta wack. You werent taking them in order so your period is probably gonna be out of order for a while too..

  4. I wouldn't be too worried. Since you took the pills correctly at first then started not taking the non active pills for 5 months and now are trying to take them correctly again your body is confused. Your hormones are a little jacked up and your body doesn't know whats going on. Give your body some time to get back on track. But if you are worried at all go ahead and take a pregnancy test but I think it is just because your body is confused as to what is going to happen next....are going to take the active pills or the non active pills....just give it some time. If it keeps up talk to your doctor.
