Question:

Nokia 6126 - refuses to charge.?

I have a Nokia 6126, I bought it new in October from AT&T. It's been an awesome phone, but recently, it's decided it doesn't want to accept a charge. I charge it overnight, every night, but when I plug it in, it does nothing. I've tried wiggling it around, everything. I brought it to my neighbor's, and it began to charge there. So for a few days, I just charged it there. Now it won't charge there, and the most I can hope for is for it to charge for 5 seconds, then quit. Is my battery worn out? It's gone through at least 300-400 chargings. Or is it the system in my phone? It wasn't ever dropped or water damaged. Or maybe the charger. I want to know before I up and buy a new battery. Or are there some tips? I heard something about putting my battery in the fridge, then charging it. Thank you for the advice.

  1. I'm 90% sure that you need a new battery and there is no problem with the phone BUT before you go to AT&T take the to a cell phone tech store and let them look into this as well and they should also be able to tell you what's wrong with your phone.

  2. You either need a new battery or you need a new charger. It happened to my phone (diffrent kind of phone though...) So try both...

  3. Do you have a volt meter, or something that can give you a digital read out of how much power the charger is putting out? If you do, plug the charger in, and put one of the wires in the center of the chargers plug (THE END THAT PLUGS IN YOU PHONE) and the other on the outside part of that end (THE SHINY OUTER PART OF THE END THAT PLUGS IN YOUR PHONE) and it should tell you how many volts the charger is putting out. If it is below 3.7volts, you need a new charger.

  4. You just need a new battery
