Nose piercing help !!?

I have my nose pierced (just a little stud) and I recently noticed there's a small red bump next to the piercing..is this an infection? Not to be graphic or anything, but I tried to pop it but it just bleeds a little and is still there. Oh, and it does hurt if I do try to touch it hard. Does anyone know what I can do to get rid of it or make it gradually go away? Thank you in advance !

  1. That little red bump near  your recent piercing is likely a burgeoning squamous cell cancer.  This form of  cancer, frequently seen in heavy smokers  and alcoholics, is lately become the skin cancer of choice by those who know in Hollywood.

Removal of squamous cell cancer depends on the depth, location, and invasiveness of the tumor.  Regardless, you can rest assured that surgical removal will involve disfigurement and permanent disalignment of facial features, especially with a SCCA located anywhere near the nose or nasal opening.

    Have a nice day!

  2. thats a keloid scar. ( i think thats how you spell it) i had the same thing. i got my nose pierced once and got one and took it out and it went away. so i re-pierced it and i got one again. if you leave it in it will go away eventually. although it may get kinda big before it does..keep it clean and keep your hands away from it. give it a week or two and see if it gets any smaller. if it doesnt seem like its making any progress then i would just say to take it out.

  3. It sounds like hypertrophic scarring, which isn't uncommon.  Just use a sea salt soak on it once a day (if it's not a fresh piercing, if it is, then 2-3 times a day) until you notice it subsiding.  Usually it goes away on its own as long as you're keeping up with good hygiene.  A lot of people also swear by tea tree oil, but I have no personal experience with it.
