  1. There is no comparison.  Breast milk was created for babies - that's why it's there!  That's why women have b*****s!  Breastfeeding your baby will provide it with more nutrients, more antibodies, and a stronger immune system.  Babies who are breast fed have fewer allergies and far less colic than babies who are bottle fed.  There are well over 100 nutrients found in breast milk that are NOT found in ANY commercial formula and have never been duplicated in a laboratory.  That's over 100 nutrients your baby's body, brain, and immune system will never see if you bottle feed.

Breastfeeding your baby is the single best start you can give it.

  2. A benefit to breast-feeding is that it is a natural way for your baby to get immunities. If you're uncomfortable actually breast-feeding, you can always use a pump. There are formulas out there, but they can only do so much, while your own breast milk can provide just that much more.

I don't believe shyness can be derived from not breast-feeding though.

  3. People say that breastfeeding reduces sickness and allergies.  However, my two kids were breastfed, and they still continue to have allergies, asthma, and illnesses all the time even 10 years later.  My sisters kids were bottle fed, and they have hardly ever been sick.

  4. Breastfeeding is important for several reasons - it provides bonding between mother and child, it helps bolster the child's immune system... here, look at the wiki article on it. It lists tons of reasons it's better to breast feed. Good luck!

  5. I breastfed both my children for at least a year each, but none of my nieces and nephews were breastfed at all, and there are major differences as far as their health and attachment levels go. My nieces and nephews have had many many more colds and ear and throat infections than my kids have. ALL of my nieces and nephews have had to have tubes put into their ears due to frequent ear infections, and they have had multiple episodes of tonsilitis and strep throat. Neither of my daughters has ever had a throat infection, and I think they each had like one ear infection, and they are a little older than my nieces and nephews. My kids are also more attached to me, which can be good in some ways and bad in others. It's nice to be so close, but sometimes they have to be reminded that mommy needs her mommy time. Hope that helps!
