we sent an NSP 4 weeks ago and this week went to court to get things rolling, does anyone know how long the court takes to decide on a date for a hearing?

  1. The court date is quite quick. Actually enforcing the courts decison on possession. Now that's a much lengthier process.

  2. Varies from court to court and area to area. You just end up in the queue.

  3. if its an assured shorthold tenancy, very quickly.

If its an assured tenancy, then there needs to be a full hearing and this takes longer.

If it's a mortgage case, it depends on whether there needs to be a full-blown hearing, or whether it's a simple administrative case.

It also depends on the basis of the NSP - whether it's arrears, or redevelopment of the site or whatever.

  4. I believe it is fairly quick, but I'm only referring to housing association repossessions, not sure about mortgages.
