Nursing Finch eggs?

My friend works at petsmart, and she brought me four finch eggs. We don't know if they are fertilized, but if they do happen to hatch, what would I need to take care of them when they are birds, and what/how do I need to take care of the eggs. I have two parakeets, and I've never had finches before. I have them in a small padded area, and I put a hand warmer inside two socks, and put it on top so they would stay warm. but is there anything in pet stores that I can buy to help they stay alive(if they are.)?

  2. im not sure

  3. Assume the eggs are good and fresh.

Incubate eggs in 99.5 degree F at 75% humidity.  What you have right now will not do.  You might be able to find some inforamtion online on how to build a correct incubator.  You can also buy an incubator

Candling an egg occurs about 7 days of incubation.  If you candle too early the eggs will look as they they were infertile.

If everything works out.  Finch egg usually hatch around 14 days.

If they eggs do hatch.  You can feed them a rice based handfeeding formula found in many petstore.  However, feeding schedule is very long and tiring.

Honestly, hatching and raising finches to adulthood is very hard and failure is very high.  So please don't feel too disapointed if the eggs do not hatch or make it to adulthood.
