Nyc middle school registration?

Question

can my child go to any public middle school in nyc or just the one in his neighborhood?

the one in our neighborhood is horrible. my daughter went there last year and learned nothing.

yeah you have to get into the neighborhood one theres no choice. But you can do one thing. You can change your address like lie and tell them you live somewhere else. Like if you have a friend who live near a good school you  can put her address down and they'll take your child. My friend she lived in Manhattan (the schools in queens) and she came to school cuz she had a fake address. and i know couple of people who did this too. But you have to be careful and not get busted...
